Within the 10-episode installment, entertainment journalist and Black Girl Podcast co-host, Gia Peppers, uses the power of dynamic conversation to take audiences and special guests on a deep dive into issues impacting and inspiring the black community.

Valeisha Butterfield-Jones, Recording Academy co-president and Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network co-founder, and hip-hop artist turned activist, Master P,  can be heard in Season 2.  Peppers and her influential guests explore a range of topics including personal and professional development, social justice, climate change, black love, and so much more. Other notable guests include therapist and New York Times best-selling author, Nedra Tawwab, comedian Chris Spencer, and content creators KevOnStage and Bren Herrera.

Ad agency dentsu International and One Solution, the branded content division of Urban One, launched More Than That with Gia Peppers out of a desire to not only respond to the inequities in the advertising supply chain, but also to provide an opportunity for dentsu clients to leverage a new consumer engagement model — one that avoids the intrusiveness of traditional advertising by co-creating and supporting content people care about. The show and supporting marketing resulted in more than $4 million invested into Black-owned media in its first year.

NABOB President Jim Winston said, “Last year, season one of More Than That with Gia Peppers was a huge success for our NABOB member radio stations and our primary sponsors, GM, P&G, and Kroger. Proprietary research done by them and dentsu demonstrated a very enthusiastic reception by NABOB audiences and a great benefit for the sponsors. As a result, P&G, GM, and Kroger are sponsoring the second season of the show, and they have been joined by MasterCard. We anticipate another excellent season for the show.”

In a news release, Peppers said, “The goal of season 2 is much like the first season’s: to shine light on the issues Black people face in America, as well as inspire people and corporations to use their voices and resources to help us all move forward to a more equitable future.”

Simmy Bhargava, Executive Producer at dentsu good shares excitement for Season 2. “It’s so energizing to work with such an inspiring group of people, all coming together to make the show a reality. Everyone has a real passion for the show, and I think the success of season 1 is a testament to that. The power of collaboration between all of the diverse groups involved supporting our stories and the Black community.”
