The Media Sales Institute (MSI)©, a dynamic ten-day training program established by Personal Selling Principles (PSP) in 1999, originated at Howard University in 2000. Initially tailored for graduating college or university seniors with a fervent interest in media sales, MSI underwent significant growth and evolution over the years.
From 2006 to 2014, the annual Media Sales Institute found its home at Florida A&M University under the stewardship of The National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters Telecommunications Education and Management Foundation (NABOB Foundation).
In 2016, a pivotal partnership emerged between the NABOB Foundation and Personal Selling Principles, LLC (PSP), resulting in the expansion of the highly successful MSI program to Atlanta, GA. This groundbreaking initiative marked the first MSI in the nation to target a diverse audience, including military personnel (Post 9/11), career changers, and recent college graduates aspiring to embark on careers in media sales.
With a focus on selling advertising airtime or space across various platforms such as cable, digital, internet, outdoor, publications, radio, and television, MSI provides participants with invaluable skills and knowledge essential for success in the dynamic world of media sales. The program’s expansion to Atlanta has created a uniquely rich learning environment, fostering the development of technically adept and diverse talent poised to make significant contributions to the media industry.
